Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)
(Must be 4 by December 1, 2024)

The Great Start Readiness Program is a free, state-funded preschool program for 4 year-olds.  Placement is determined using the Income Eligibility Guidelines, as well as other eligibility factors.  We currently have six GSRP classrooms at the Early Childhood Center, five of which are School Day and one that is a Half Day program.  Classes are Monday - Thursday.

GSRP provides children the opportunity to build a solid foundation for learning.  Classroom instruction utilizes The Creative Curriculum, a research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning.  Through “studies” based on student interest and student-led inquiry, children have a say and are engaged in their learning.

Proof of income is required for this program.  Please bring all documents in the list above, including:
  • 2023 Federal Tax Return or Current Paystubs for 4 weeks

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
ECSE and Transition ECSE are offered at the Eve Kaltz Academy 21 and Special Programs building for children who qualify.  The ECSE class meets the needs of children with developmental delays.  The Transition ECSE class assists children with speech and language delays.  Please contact our Special Education Services at 586-510-2050 for more information.
